Your link shows up on the front page, but not in your post: I've found embedding a link with specific link text tends to work, rather than just dropping in the link.
Also, that's my local CL, though Georgetown, TN is 3 hours away. BRB, taking day off work, borrowing two-axle trailer, and making my dad's head explode with Surprise Saab. Actually, not really. (My dad, whose parking I'd be abusing, is *not* a Saab fan).

Mostly, the experience that working on them sometimes defies logic. I think it was a particularly arcane clutch job and a bunch of suspension work that turned him off them - possibly with the contribution of the owner of said Saab. An... enthusiastic individual.
"It was designed by airplane engineers!"
"Great. Get back to me when it was designed by *car* engineers - maybe they'll know what they're doing."
"Goofy to work on" = him no le gusta. Same reason he typically doesn't like Fords, x5 or more for Saabs.

hahaha it sounds like you should just drop one off on the sly. I will tell you though, a 900 clutch job is amazingly easy to do, but the goddamn starter under the intake on the 16V, forget about it.

The starter isn't that bad
Okay, maybe it is that bad
But at least it's not as hard as the alternator, or the belts, or the fact that the vacuum diagrams are always wrong or the goddamn hydraulic mounts or...
At least the clutch is an easy job ;)

Yes. Yes I do. I may show this ad to the RMSC and see if any members want to pony up for one or two. We're in need of a good club project soon anyway

grabbing 2 wagons for 600 bucks plus fuel to haul em back sounds like a hell of a plan to me
